Andromeda
Creating and maintaining a Design System

Project Overview
During my 3 years as a product designer at Rocketseat, I helped build and maintain Andromeda, our design system. Since we had a relatively small product and development team, there was no dedicated team for the design system, which made it both a challenge and a rewarding learning experience.
Design Process
Context & Opportunity Analysis: Both designers and developers wished to have documented reusable components and a shared and scalable language. We were also paying for Figma licenses but weren't utilizing one of its main features—shared libraries.
Understanding & Alignment: I led several meetings to identify team pain points and align the design system structure. The goal was to create a shared language and mirror tokens and components between design and code.
Component Creation & Documentation: Designed and tested components with a focus on accessibility.
Icon Libraries: Organized and maintained a cohesive icon library.
Prioritizing Roadmap: Assisted in prioritizing updates and changes to the design system.
Outcome
Reduced feature delivery time.
Improved communication between designers and developers.
Streamlined onboarding for new employees.
Simplified future rebranding efforts.
